Steam Setup

  1. Prepare Your Space

    • Find a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed.

    • Play calming music and light incense if desired.

  2. Prepare the Herbs

    • Add 1/4 cup of herbs to a pot of water.

    • Bring to a boil, then let it infuse for 10 minutes.

    • Set an intention or whisper blessings over the herbs during this time.

  3. Transfer the Water

    • Once the water cools to a comfortable temperature, pour it into a stainless steel bowl.

    • Cover the bowl’s sides with a towel to protect your skin.

    • Use your forearm to check the heat—if it’s too hot for your arm, let it cool further.

  4. Begin Steaming

    • Position yourself over the bowl (squat, kneel, or child’s pose).

    • Wrap a towel or blanket around your waist to trap the steam.

  5. Breathe and Visualize

    • Take slow, deep breaths, focusing on your womb space.

    • Visualize clearing physical and energetic blockages.

  6. Steam for 10–15 Minutes

    • Gradually increase time as you become more comfortable.

    • Stay hydrated and rest afterward.

Caution: Be mindful of the hot bowl—use towels to prevent burns.

What to
expect after

Ensure to keep yourself warm, especially your feet! Hydrate yourself and maintain a state of calm and relaxation.
You may experience different things following a steam, such as releasing energetically or emotionally.
You may notice an increased amount of discharge, or your subsequent period may result in clots/dark older blood causing a heavier bleed. This is perfect as your womb is being cleansed.
Depending on your intention, your cycle may shorten, or lengthen. Several steams may be advised in order to either achieve your desired results, or maintain them.

Note *this is not medical advice. Yoni Steaming does not replace any medical information prescribed to you.

  • You are actively bleeding.

  • You are pregnant.

  • Actively trying to get pregnant and are in the middle of ovulation (and have had sex or a transfer).

  • Have any infections or open wounds.

  • If you have had heavy spontaneous bleeding mid-cycle within the last three months.

  • Please remove any piercings to avoid burns.

  • Have just had laser hair removal or waxing.

On yoni health

It's incredibly important to look after your womb and yoni. It's best to wear breathable, cotton underwear (or any natural fibre) for general day-to-day.
Unfortunately most period products are laced with chemicals and synthetic materials that are completely unsafe for our health. I have found period underwear to be the best thing - not only are they safer depending on the material, but they are so much more economical. There are varying absorbency types, and as long as the correct absorbency type is used, there shouldn't be any leakage.
Please also NEVER use essential oils in or around your vagina. The vagina has such a delicate microbiome. This also goes for "vagina cleansers, soaps, wipes etc" that claim to restore Ph, they are unneccessary.
